The reason for my visit was to have a tooth extracted, knowing this I asked if I should or should not eat/drink before my appointment. I was told yes, I could eat/drink before my appointment. I was then told during the appointment I would have to return the next day. The reason, I had eaten (evidently I was given erroneous information) So I leave the office with a pre-treatment estimate and return the next day. I check-in and take a seat in the waiting room then I am called to the reception desk and am told I would have to prepay for the procedure. I stated that there was no mention OR notation on the pre-treatment estimate of this. I asked why I was being required to prepay when everyone that has exited the treatment area has paid AFTER treatment. I was told that is their policy. I asked where is the disclosure of this policy because it should at the very least be on the pre-treatment estimate. I DID NOT GET AN ANSWER! Suspecting I was being required to prepay when others are not and after wasting hours of my time and two useless 40 mile round trips (due to their incompetence and perhaps bias) I declined and left. I successfully received treatment at another provider at a cost of $90 as opposed to the OUTRAGEOUS pre-treatment estimate of $414!!! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND 1800 DENTIST OR American Family Dentistry TO ANYBODY!!!
