It was a plesant experience

I just had my first visit with this dentist and so we have not really discussed the treatment plan in detail yet. I am a person who is quite fearful of dentists and I was pleasantly surprised at how much both he and his assistant put me at ease and how kind they both were. I was also pleasantly surprised at Dr Emalfarb's attitude when I discussed my fears and what he could do to alleviate them. We discussed the use of nitrous oxide and other measures to make me feel more at ease and when I asked him how much that would cost me, he told me that he did not charge for anything that allowed him to do his job better. In his opinion making me feel more comfortable while in the dental chair was something that would make his job easier and would make him better able to serve me and so he does not charge for anything like that. I was blown away by this as I had read on line about dentists charging up to $250 per half hour for the use of things like nitrous oxide.
I have not yet had any actual treatment by Dr Emalfarb so I cannot at this time really rate him as a dentist. All I can say is my first impressions from this first visit were very favourable and I hope that he lives up to the excellent first impression that he made on me.

Dr. Emalfarb is a great dentist. He filled my first cavities and explained the entire treatment process so that I knew what to expect. Both he and his staff are very friendly and have completely eradicated any anxiety I might feel when visiting a dentist.

Very nice experience. My only complaint is that because I am a new patient, I could not get a cleaning on the first visit and had to make another appointment for what I originally wanted done.
