Every once in a while, I have a really strange problem. I will occasionally have small white chunks of an unknown material come from somewhere in the back of my throat. I assume they come from my saliva glands, but as I'm not a dentist, I'm not quite sure. Hehe. These particles are usually about the size of a grain of rice, but about 1/2 as long, and they smell god-awful. I can usually tell if one will be discharged a few days in advance, because I get a gross taste in my mouth, and not too long after that, I can feel something stuck in the back of my mouth. I then try to suck them into my mouth, so I can get rid of them, kinda like when you want to spit out some phlem in the back of your throat, although they don't come out quite that easily, then they pop into the front of my mouth, with some saliva, and I spit them out. This only happens once every few months, and after getting rid of 2 or 3 of these particles, it will go away. I would like to know if anybody else has this problem, and if there is a way to get rid of it, since it's quite gross.
Thanks for your time.

Do you still have your tonsils? It might be a build up of food particles that discharge once big enough to pop out. I'm not sure how to cure that.

i know exactly what you are talking about.
in my case, i went to the doctor because i saw what i thought were "white spots" on the back of my throat. my doctor took a long stick and picked it off. it was basically a very small particle of food that attached itself. you can feel it and it does stink because it's been in there a while.
my doctor said that she seen this a few times and it's nothing really to worry about. be sure to use some listerine to kill all the batercia in your mouth.
