Hello. I have a permanent crown on with temporary adhesive because the tooth was still having sensitivity to cold. No root canal was done. The tooth was cracked and causing pain and sensitivity. Bad metallic taste ever since permanent crown has been on. I saw dentist again yesterday complaining of bad taste and they thought maybe crown had come loose and I was tasting adhesive. They reapplied the crown with more adhesive and I still taste the same awful metallic taste. Its very, very strong. I know the crown has metal in it since i can see the tell tale grey/blackish line on inside of my gum. I think dentist is getting tired of me showing up complaining. Tooth does NOT hurt..only mild sensitivity to cold water. Should I ask him to make me another crown out of different material? Am I tasting the metal under the porcelain? How long will this bad taste go on if i keep this crown? thank you!!
